Duet

Duet came into our rescue program on February 15, 2019. Duet came into our rescue program from the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office along with 27 other horses as a cruelty case. Many of the horses were unhandled prior to the seizure. The court awarded that 14 horses could be returned to the owner. Duet is a Beautiful, Bay, Thoroughbred, Mare. Duet is estimated to be 6 years of age. Duet is a sweet girl and loves attention but she tends to be a bit on the aloof side. Duet was heavily pregnant upon arrival but sadly she was carrying Twins and lost both. Duet is halter broke and broke to lead. She needs some attention to her hooves. We don't believe she has had any other training. She is thin with a body score of a 3. Infested with internal/external parasites. She is going to make someone a super nice horse with the right amount of time and training. She needs to gain a bit more weight before evaluating for adoption. Please consider making a donation towards Duet's rehabilitation.

Update December 2019 Duet is now seeking her forever, loving home. Duet has gained a lot of weight and looking great. She is ready for a family to call her own and start her training. Duet is a sweet girl but tends to be aloof. She needs a family that is patient and will work with her on training. Duet was not halter broke or broke to lead when she entered in our program. She is slowly learning to trust. Duet has a lot of potential and will make someone an excellent horse with the right amount of time, patience and training. Duet has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, dental, and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in giving this beautiful girl a forever home, please submit an adoption application or call/text/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Duet.

Team Duet did a great job at this years 10th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainers Challenge. We are thrilled to announce that Trainer Zack Armendariz came in 5th place with Team Duet. Both did an amazing job and we couldn't be more proud of this wonderful team.

We are thrilled to have partnered with Black Beauty Ranch in Murchison, Texas where they accepted some of our sanctuary horses. This is an amazing opportunity for these horses to live on 100's of acres of land and be the wild and free horses they desired to be. We occasionally get horses in that aren't adoptable due to behavioral issues. We never want to place an adopter in harm's way and most of these horses will remain in our care until they pass away, but this provided us an amazing opportunity to place these horses in a sanctuary and free up space for other horses in need.

Please call, text or email to schedule an appointment to visit the horses currently available in our rescue program. We are generally available BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! Please be patient with us and we will return your call/text/email as soon as possible.
