Shirley came into our rescue program on August 28, 2023. Shirley came into our rescue program from the Major County Sheriff's Office along with 18 other horses and 1 very obese pot belly pig, as a cruelty case. Many other animals were seized as well and sent to a local small animal rescue. I am unsure of how many deceased animals were found on the property. Many of the horses had respiratory issues upon arrival. On September 28, 2023, In the District Court of Major County and the State of Oklahoma, having filed its motion regarding the animals pursuant to 21 O.S. 1680.4 and 4 O.S. 512, it is ordered that ownership is transferred to Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue. Shirley is a Beautiful, Sorrel, Pony, Mare. Shirley is estimated to be 7 years of age upon arrival into our program. Shirley is thin with a body score of 3. She has extremely overgrown feet. Shirley's blood work showed she is anemic, and she is infested with internal parasites. Shirley is very ill upon arrival and being monitored daily for fevers. This sweet girl has a long road of recovery ahead of her. Please consider making a donation towards Shirley's Rehabilitation.
